  • This contemporary, brightly coloured painting was created using layers of different colours applied with a palette knife to build up the texture. The underpainting is mainly black, which I then covered with arcs of sky blue, cerise, phthalo blue and crimson. The word lambent means, amongst other things, 'softly bright or radiant', which I think suits this painting perfectly. It it painted on a piece of hardboard which has been fixed to a framework of 2x2 timber, making a wooden box framed painting. The edges of the framework have been painted red so that it can be hung as it is without the need for additional framing.

This piece was donated to a charity earlier this year and is therefore no longer for sale.
